Opus Plus Founder Receives New Product Development Professional Certification

Opus Plus founder Cynthia Gilmer has received her New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification from the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA). To qualify for this distinction, Ms. Gilmer had to demonstrate that she met the required level of education, experience and knowledge in New Product Development. The breadth of knowledge and skills required spans:
- Innovation and strategy
- Product portfolio management
- New product development processes
- Tools and metrics
- Market research and voice-of-the-customer
- Teams, people and organizational issues in new product development
Ms. Gilmer says "I wanted to get this certification because it covers a broad range of knowledge and skills that I can apply to my clients' needs. These skills are useful in building many types of successful businesses, not just product centric companies." She added "While I have worked in product development for over 20 years, I still enjoyed studying for the exam because it allowed me to review the writings of thought leaders in the field. I also learned some new tools and methodologies that I can apply."
